Notice: Due to Predator Falcon's high cost, it is not currently for sale. For now, if you're looking for a pre-built and pre-configured Predator device, check out one of the less expensive Predator Apex models.

Predator Falcon is for the serious tinkerers who want a full blown computer powering their Predator system. Needless to say, Predator Falcon provides drastically faster performance than less expensive Predator Apex models. However, where Predator Falcon excels the most is in it's versatility. At it's core, Predator Falcon is just a Linux mini-PC configured with the Predator software. That means that it's fully capable of running any software or programs you want! While Predator is running in the background, you can use Predator Falcon to run a high-end in-car entertainment system, emulate games, monitor vehicle diagnostic data, or anything number of other things you can think of!

Features

Here are some of the many features you'll get with Predator Scorpion.

Expandable

While Predator Falcon is primarily configured to run the Predator software, it's really just a powerful Linux based mini-PC at it's core. This means that you can program your Predator Falcon to do absolutely anything a typical Linux PC can do, or even repurpose it entirely.

Adjustable

While Predator Falcon is primarily designed for use dashboard mounted license plate reader, it's lens is fully adjustable, allowing it to be zoomed in for long range scanning, or zoomed out for use as a normal dashcam, without any additional purchases!

Long Range

Predator Falcon uses a 50mm optical zoom lens, along side a high resolution camera, which enables it to scan license plates on cars hundreds of feet away, even while in motion. It also has physical dials for modifying focal length and zoom for easy and quick adjustments without the use of advanced equipment.

Modular

Predator Falcon is completely modular and uses off-the-shelf parts, meaning it's extremely easy to repair and upgrade. For example, if, after purchasing and using Predator Falcon for a while, you decide that you want to be able to scan license plates from farther away, simply remove the existing camera and drop any new USB camera in it's place!

Open Source

As you might expect, Predator Falcon uses the exact same version of Predator as you'd get by building a Predator device yourself. That means you'll get the same privacy and freedom benefits by purchasing Predator Falcon as you would if you built it from scratch yourself, and that you'll always be able to update the software running on your device.

Compact

Predator Falcon is designed to be compact, and takes up very little space, allowing it to be placed on the dashboard of a car without obstructing the driver's vision of the road in any capacity. This also makes it much easier to conceal (or even completely relocate) Predator Falcon to reduce the chances of your car becoming a target for thieves.

Multipurpose

Predator Falcon is capable of operating as a dashcam, license plate reader, GPS alert system, object recognition system, or anything else you program it to do. Whether you want to turn Predator Falcon into a mobile game console, in-car entertainment system, or even something far more advanced, you'll benefit from the extensibility of Linux and the hardware Predator Falcon is built on.

Unrestricted

Predator Falcon contains absolutely zero arbitrary restrictions that limit functionality, repairability, or upgradeability. The entire system runs on a generic Linux platform, making it easy to replace, upgrade, or add hardware to Predator Falcon, and the Predator software itself has no DRM of any kind that restrict what you can do with it.

Caveats

Here are some of the things you should know about Predator Falcon before you consider a purchase.

Assembly

Predator Falcon is not a mass-produced product by any means, and is built to order. While assembly is reliable and durable, expect to receive a package of modular components, not a single unified enclosure.

Technical

While Predator Falcon comes completely pre-assembled and set up, you'll still need basic technical knowledge to get it up and running. For example, you'll need a basic understanding of the Linux command line, as well as basic router configuration experience.

Shutter Speed

Since the camera used with Predator Falcon is extremely compact, it isn't as sensitive to light as a camera with a larger lens and sensor. In sunny or overcast conditions, Predator Falcon will have no issues scanning plates of moving cars ahead. However, it will struggle to detect plates of on-coming cars, especially during storms or the night.
